Week 12 Winners & Losers

Week 12 was a roller coaster, with some big winners and some big losers.

Winners & Losers

Jutdog (+30, 12-4) was the big winner, as Seton Hall knocked off #9 Syracuse, BYU defended their home court against #4 San Diego State, and 5 more wins against other players catapulted him out of 10th place and into the running again (although only 8th place...).

Mooseye (+25, 11-4) was the other big winner, with New Mexico picking off #9 BYU, and 5 more wins against other players. Western Kentucky won two, keeping them from getting dropped, Wichita State swept 2 to keep them in the Missouri Valley hunt, and even lowly Wake Forest won a game before being dropped. Mooseye rose from 7th place a week ago to 4th place, just 25 back from the Mighty Gunz.

Other good scores for the week: Boaris is back with +22 off a 12-3 record, Gunz is firing again with +21 despite a 9-7 record, Jaybird picked up +20 off a 10-6 record, and Slake B started winning again picking up +20 off a 10-6 record.

The biggest loser this week was Akaoni, who could only get three of his teams to win a game, and one of them, Texas Tech, he dropped after a 2-0 performance. Villanova, Butler, Florida St, Northwestern, and Dayton all went win-less for the week, netting Akaoni a total of +7 off a depressing 5-9 week.

Teams of the Week

Louisville (Boaris) beat West Virginia (Mad Mader) and #5 UCONN (Mooseye) for 8 points, moving them into second place in the Big East, and moving Boaris from 9th place to 6th place on the leader board.

Georgetown (Gunz) beat St. Johns (Babblemur) and #8 Villanova (Akaoni) for 8 points, giving the Hoyas a winning record (5-4) in the Big East and Gunz some ammo for holding onto first place.

Dear Texas Tech.

Please accept my heartfelt apologies and go out and beat Kansas! I know you have one big upset in you this year. Please let it happen on the last day I can receive points from your performance.

Your Friend,

Akaoni

Dear Mother Nature,

Punish us for our sins against you.

You too? Geez, it's just a little snow. You live in Wisconsin! You grew up in Iowa! Snow is to be expected.

Woohoo. I get a snow day tonight. I hope ESPN will show Wake Forest's big upset of Florida State.

Big win for Bucky!! And, please, learn for the rest of the year...Taylor, Gasser, Evans, Leuer, Nankivil should be the lineup 85% of the game. By far the best 5. No more Jarmusz, Bruisewicz, etc.

I thought Bruiser played well tonight.

Also, it isn't about stagnation. You have to believe that not playing someone like Evans a previous game serves as a great motivation for busting hist ass all week and on into the game.

And while we're on the subject of busting ass, which translates into ass-kicking:

How About those UNC boys, breaking the hundy mark. Good to see Barnes beginning to play like the hero he is. Back to back 25+ pt nights. UNC enters a tough stretch that includes Florida S, Duke, and Clemson. If they can come out with only one loss, they will be in a great position to take the league.

I think that previous crap comment is reffering to the home job Vandy got in the Florida game, wow, Jenkins got absolutely creamed, second best free throw shooter in the country and the refs miss it.

That is two games (the G-Town 3 after the shot clock had expired) that have cost me 6 pts.

If it comes down to 6 pts for me, you can bet I'll find and e-mail the head refs from those crews,

Wow, when Vitale is talking about being blind in an eye and seeing it you know its bad

shut up baby. Help me celebrate Maine's loss.

I also see ESPN did not show me the love with the Bracket Busters this year, all I got was Peay coming to Fairfield I believe.....

1. Drexel is by far the best team not in our league. Wins over Louisville and Old Dominion, among numerous others, demonstrates why most rating systems have them in the top 75 in the nation.

2. A win by Kent St over Drexel would be huge for numbers and the continually-slumping MAC.

3. The only other buster I have is just a great game: Cleveland St Vs Old D. Both top 40 in most rating systems and having pretty good seasons.

Correction,

Those postings above are incomplete, Wofford gets Ball State, no one took them but Buffalo gets UW-Milwaukee

and Jutdog ties up the CEO for 8th place in what must be his highest ranking in well over a month!

Ok, I take my above comment back. Mother nature is obviously a bit pissed.

We didn't get it too bad here in Osh-ville. They canceled school and university classes, but seemed unnecessary. I took the bus to work, no problems. I guess I'll start updating the spreadsheet.

You can NOT be rooting for Vermont (Gunz) to win the American East over Maine (Babs). That is 6 points for the conference, and 4 four the tournament. Surely you want Babs to get those 10 points, not Gunz? So stop rooting for Vermont (unless you are Musashisan, then you can root for Vermont). Otherwise root for Maine, but Gunz can root for Vermont.

Mooseye kicked some ass last night, 4-1 for 8 points and he is in 2nd place.

Some Guy in Illinois nailed 8 points off two wins, is he still the sleeper?
