Parity Marks Week Eleven

The mandatory weekly update - Week Eleven

No standouts this week. Every player picked up between 12 and 19 points, between 6 and 11 wins, between 4 and 10 losses. The CEO topped all in most wins and fewest losses.

Rundown:
  • The CEO +19 (11-4) - Vandy wins in and out of conference against Ole Miss and St. Mary's
  • Akaoni +19 (9-7) - Villanova's win over Syracuse atones for the loss to UCONN
  • Mad Mader +18 (10-4) - Syracuse drops two, are they still final four material?
  • Gunz +18 (8-7) - Duke is back on track (unlike Clemson, Stanford and Bradley = 0-6)
  • Slake B +17 (9-5) - Ohio State and Xavier picking up the slack
  • Some Guy in Illinois +17 (9-7) - Washington earning their first round draft status
  • Jaybird +17 (7-6) - Arizona & Temple stumble, Pitt and UTEP rumble
  • Jutdog +16 (8-7) - Two big wins for Texas, BYU ready for the Aztecs this week
  • Mooseye +16 (8-8) - at least UCONN is still kicking ass
  • Boaris +15 (7-7) - K-State bombs, Utah State looks fine
  • Babblemur +15 (7-8) - Takes a beating but still beating most of you
  • McGrumps +14 (10-7) - Damn, what happened to Quinnipeac?
  • Musashisan +12 (6-10) - Bright sides: Northern Iowa and Alabama; Dark sides: everyone else

Big win for Mad Mader last night - Notre Dame over Pitt narrows Gunz lead to 13 points... This week could really shake up the board

Last year, as you recall, Lord Jut once again dominated the league and snagged the championship trophy, while being the first to win the league w/o the NCAA champ.

Last year, on 1/31/10, I was down by 46 points from the leader! This year? 48 points. While my lower squads are no match for my 2010 late pick teams (Cornell, Utah St), I don't think I'm out with Texas and BYU leading my squad, followed by a decent UNC and an above average Old Dominion (2 more points thus far than Wisconsin) Further, I don't think anyone is out, except maybe Musash.

A Number of big games today:

~ Big 10 leadership board up for grabs with Purdue heading to Ohio St. The interesting thing about this matchup is Johnson is considered the best big man defender in the country, so it should be interesting how the Ohio St interior does.

~ Marquette and Colorado both have solid opportunities with home court adv to re-enter the NCAA tourney by knocking off top 10 teams

~ Several interesting dirty ACC games of under-performing teams such as NC St, Clemson, and V tech.

~ Lord Jut

I'm pretty sure I'm out, as I don't think I have any final four teams and there's no way I can build a big enough lead to overcome that. Maybe Kentucky will grow up fast, I've given up on Memphis growing up.

I think that the BYU v. SDSU game is on CBS although that may be regional.
