NIT

Check out the NIT bracket here.

What do we know? All but 3 or 4 of the 32 teams are BabblePlayer squads, making this tourney a game changer for our league.

In total, this year's NIT is probably worth around 100 pts, unless UW Milwaukee or another non-player team takes it all.

- A team that makes the post-season NIT final 4 receives 2 points*
- A team that makes the post-season NIT championship receives 4 points*
- The team that wins the post-season NIT championship receives 7 points*
- * Each post-season win over another player will also include +2 points

Also keep in mind that there are NO MORE POINTS for Top 10 wins starting today.

And what about the 24 team CIT tourney and the 16 team CBI tourney? I'm hoping these two don't count because I have no teams in either.

They count only for the usual games:
+1 for a win, +2 for beating another player. No points for winning the CIT or CBI or any other.

I think next year we should reconsider point allocations for the NIT.

Wow, the NIT looks more exciting than the NCAA!

#1 seeds: Alabama (Musa), Colorado (Babs), Boston College (McGrumps), Virginia Tech (Mad Mader).

Should our league continue to be so big, it makes a little more sense to maybe consider something with the NIT along the following lines:

Rnd one win: +1
Rnd two win: +2
Rnd three win: +3 (making final 4)
Rnd four win: +5 (making final)
Rnd five win: +8 (winning NIT)

I'm confused as to why Balls St. isn't playing in any tournament. Ohio's playing. Do these tournaments have strange criteria for choosing teams?

McGrumps said...

And down goes Quinnipiac.

Some teams turn down tournaments. Maryland did. Maybe Ball State doesn't have the balls to play post season if it isn't at Macy's.

BTW, Babs, your suggestion that I pick Jackson St. sucked. Wasn't I going with Hampton before that?
