Gunz held onto the top spot for the second week in a row, picking up 31 points this was off a 12-6 record. #1 Duke's win over #4 Kansas State in the CBE on Tuesday netted 8 points alone, and while he didn't win any other tournaments this week he was competitive in several, picking up points off other players with Wisconsin over Boston College, Clemson over Seton Hall, and VCU over UCLA.
But the big winner of Week Three was Boaris who went 16-4 for 41 points, vaulting him from 8th place a week ago to just 12 points back from rival Gunz. Even though K-State lost to Gunz's Duke, Boaris had Tennessee take out VCU in the NIT then upset Top 10 Villanova to take the Tournament (and ten points with it). Then there was UNLV in the 76 Classic that won three straight against player teams (Tulsa, Murray State, Virginia Tech) to win that puppy. Utah State, UAB and Louisville all did their jobs as well.
A 35 point week shot league rookie Mad Mader from 7th place to 3rd. He went 16-5, led by four big wins by Notre Dame over Maine, Georgia, California and Wisconsin and the Old Spice tClassic Title. Syracuse beat down Michigan and Georgia Tech to win the Legends Classic on Saturday. Virginia Tech and Texas A&M both went 2-1 in tournaments, and St. Louis managed to win both their games this week.
Pulling into 4th place this week is McGrumps, up from 9th place the week before. Despite losing titles at Maui, CBE, South Padre, and the Old Spice, he scooped up 29 points off a 15-6 record, led by the Richmond Spiders who upset Top 10 Purdue to win the less glamorous Chicago Invitational. Memphis remained undefeated, St. Mary's went 2-1, Boston College 3-1, Oakland 2-1, and Quinnipiac 1-0 getting ready for one of their last player v. player games tonight against the Maine Black Bears.
Also feasting this week was Mooseye, who pulled himself out of the cellar and into 6th place with 30 points off a 12-4 performance. Kansas went 3-0 for 7 points, Florida 2-0 for 4, and UCONN went down to Maui and beat Wichita State, #2 Michigan State, and #9 Kentucky for a 3 day total of 15 points.
Jaybird fell one spot to 5th place off 18 points, The CEO added 14 points to fall from 3rd to 7th, and Jutdog despite losing only 3 games and adding 24 points dropped two spots from 6th to 8th. Slake B had the honor of the worst performance of the week going 7-9 for 11 points and dropping from 2nd place to 9th. Babblemur fell five spots to 10th place from a disappointing 11-7 week, Akaoni's 10-6 week dropped him into 12th, allowing Some Guy in Illinois to climb to 11th place with 16 points. Musashisan went 11-5 for 15 points, putting SGII, Akaoni and Babblemur on notice that he's getting closer...
Final Standings after Week Three:
- 1. Gunz 79 (37-9)
- 2. Boaris 67 (32-10)
- 3. Mad Mader 61 (34-9)
- 4. McGrumps 54 (34-11)

MONDAY MARQUIS MATCHUP
Maine Black Bears (Babblemur)
Vs.
Quinnipiac Bobcats (McGrumps)
Outlook: The Black Bears return to action for the first time since their 97-72 loss to Notre Dame a week ago. UMaine is expected to welcome back shooting guard Terrance Mitchell, who sat out the first four games after having surgery on a broken left index finger during preseason. Mitchell’s dribble-drive ability should complement the 3-point shooting of McLemore and the Bears’ inside game led by Barnies and McNally. The Bobcats, the defending Northeast Conference regular-season champion, begin a five-game homestand after already having faced America East members Hartford (a 68-64 win) and Vermont (a 79-75 loss). Quinnipiac beat Dartmouth 69-52 on Nov. 23. The Bears must emphasize rebounding against an opponent that is plus-9.6 in rebounding margin. Quinnipiac has three good 3-point threats, but has struggled (61 percent) from the foul line. UMaine was recently chosen by Sports Illustrated to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament.
First off, CEO, don't get too down;
Minnesota (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 AP) will likely be without two injured starters -- point guard Al Nolen and small forward Rodney Williams -- for Monday's game against Virginia.
Coach Tubby Smith said Saturday that Nolen has a foot injury and could miss "a couple weeks or longer" while he recovers. Williams sprained his ankle in Wednesday's win over North Dakota State, and Smith said he's "doubtful" to play for the Gophers (6-0) against the Cavaliers in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Minnesota's best backup, guard Devoe Joseph, completed his disciplinary actions and is expected to return to the lineup Monday, multiple Minnesota sources told ESPN.com's Andy Katz. Joseph has not played yet this season due to a violation of team rules.
But what the fuck: TCU in the Big East?? That is just dumb.. like Syracuse joining the West Coast Conference. Ya ya, Big East sucks balls in football and needs a good squad.. but reaching out to Texas??
~ JM
Yes, I am a little bummed with Minn's effort, especially defensively, how do you blow a 10 pt lead on your home court, pretty tough to do, and with their depth, yes, it hurts missing two starters, probably Nolen for his D and solid decision making, but no excuses, you are a talented team, you need people to step up.
Regarding TCU, it's all politics, digging below the surface, at the end of this year, the BCS will re-evaluate conference standing and auto bids, the Big 10, Big 12, SEC, Pac 10 and ACC are all likely shoe-ins to retain their BCS standing and continue having their highest ranked team assured a BCS position. The Big East, who's highest ranked team is like 24th I think (West Virginia) is at risk of losing their BCS standing and the $'s that come with it. TCU is tired of looking in from the outside and wants to be part of an autobid, i.e. a strange match made in heaven, that ultimately is about politics and $'s. I will toss in a jab at the Big 12 probably too concerned about how good TCU is to bring them into their conf.
However switching back to hoops, how about the Big 12, Kansas, Kansas St, Missouri, Baylor all in the top 12, it looks like all of the power behind Duke is in the Big 10 and Big 12, although the ACC struck first and is positioned well (home games for Duke, Florida St, and V Tech) to steal the ACC Big 10 challenge and give the ACC some credibility and power in the RPI,

Gooooo Bobcats!
Grrrr...
Unreal, really Missouri, I have never seen such a gift, at best Gunz should decline his bonus for beating a top 10 team,
WHY FOUL IDIOT??????????????
And what the hell is up with giving them the gift 3, you knew that would come back to bite me in the @$$ when you saw it happen,
