As usual, we asked the 13 squad captains to vote on what order they think each player will finish this year. With 10 responses, and with no further ado, the pre-season "coaches poll"
1. Gunz (2) 98
2. Jaybird (1) 91
3. Akaoni (1) 87
4. Boaris 83
5. Jutdog (1) 78
6. Mad Mader (2) 72
7. McGrumps (1) 69
8. Mooseye (1) 63
8. The CEO 63
10. Some Guy in Illinois 58
11. Babblemur (1) 58
12. Slake B 48
13. Musashisan 41
Could this be Gunz' year?
Can Jaybird live up to his own hype and expectations?
Will Jutdog continue is one year winning streak, including a one year streak of finishing ahead of Babblemur?
Will rookies Mooseye, Slake B and Mad Mader suffer first year blues or shocking upsets?
Will returning player Musashisan ride Michigan State to the top of the pack?
Will Jutdog now accuse everyone of voting for themselves?

Before Jut makes any smartass comments about me voting for myself, I voted myself in last place.
--McGrumps.
I also did not vote for myself. I think I placed myself in 4th or 5th place which is where I expect to place short of a Nova run to the championship. Overall, I think the rankings look surprisingly accurate. Except for Jut, who obviously should be in last place.
Well a few things are apparent, the Boaris, The CEO, Some Guy, Slake B, and Musa didn't vote for themselves, no controversey there

I voted for myself bitches, as I did last year as well. Of course, since I won the "most preseason all-americans" award this year, I felt entitled to that vote:

...and a note for Babs, simply having 2 good players on a team doesn't = having 2 all-americans on a team. In your case, it = 1 all-american.
Yahoo picking Seton Hall for top 7 BE finish - nice. I just moved myself up one ranking!

Yahoo giveth and taketh, it has Texas as 5th in the Big 12

Well how many all-american's do you have, bitch?
Oh, wait, you have two:

I guess the Mountain West is considered Major.
A-10 as well
I don't mind the current division we are using (major, mid, minor) but it might warrant tweaking after this season.
Should Mountain West, Atlantic 10, and maybe even Missouri Valley be considered Major instead of Mid? Or should we continue enabling the BIG SIX to get more points for their tournaments?
~Babs
C-USA is also not a mid major by the poll standards. However, I like the set up we have, and it directly reflects the selection strategies of the league, as demonstrated by the number of teams taken in the respective conferences.
Xavier down three players - 1 recruit ineligible, and now an additional two players out with injury.
