Gunz Extends his Lead

Gunz won Week 13, scoring 35 points off a 15-5 record, including an 11-2 record against other players. His top four teams went undefeated for 22 of his 35 points. If there is a bright side for the rest of us, Harvard lost to Princeton which may be enough to keep Gunz from winning the Ivy, but otherwise it looks bad as Gunz' lead is now at 32 ahead of second place with Duke, VCU and Vermont poised to win their conference titles.

How did the rest of us fare?

Gunz +35 (15-5)
Mooseye +28 (14-4)
Akaoni +26 (12-8)
Jutdog +24 (14-5)
Slake B +23 (13-7)
Mad Mader +21 (9-10)
Babblemur +19 (11-7)
Jaybird +19 (11-7)
Musashisan +17 (9-9)
Boaris +15 (13-7)
McGrumps +15 (9-8)
SGII +15 (9-8)
The CEO +13 (9-10)

Best Expanda-Draft Squad

In a short week for the expanda-draft teams, Babblemur can brag about the most success so far as Florida Atlantic went 2-0 with a win over North Texas to take a 2 1/2 game lead in the Sun Belt; and Long Island went 2-0 with a win over Quinnipiac to take a 1 game lead in the NEC.

Conference Leaders:

Jutdog (A-Sun, Big 12, MAC, MWC)
Mooseye (Big South, MEAC, MVC, SWAC)

Gotta love Joe Lunardi and his Bracketology, I have my worst week of the year (accouting for 20% of my losses) and somehow I go from having 4 teams in the dance last week to 6 this week, um, okay, thank you.....

Glad I don't own Kansas, they will self destruct, don't get me wrong, they looked great against Missouri last night, really good, but why take the swing and hit the guy in the face. The Big-12 should and likely will review that play and could suspend one of the twins. It's that kind of play that can and likely will hurt a team in the tourney, why let the emotion get to you, keep your cool, it didn't matter there, but I will factor it in, they are just a dirty team, a lot of cheap shots taken last night.

Well there is a race to the bottom in the Missouri Valley. Wichita St lost last night, Northern Iowa lost last night, Creighton lost last night..

The Missouri State - Bradley game tonight could put Akaoni in a tie for first place with Mooseye and Wichita St. MO St beat them last month but they play again on Feb 26. A lot of points on the line.

The Horizon has gotten considerably more competitive -

Valpo (Jaybird) 9-3
Cleveland St (Slake) 10-4
Wright St !!! (Slake) 10-4
Butler (Akaoni) 8-5
Milwaukee (_) 8-5
Detroit (Jut) 8-6

Detroit takes on Valpo Thursday and Butler on Saturday; Wright St plays Butler Thursday and Valpo this Saturday, Cleveland St has a cupcake game Saturday.

Very important that you check out this half-time play:

Matt Howard Loses his head

It takes a few seconds to go.

That's stage makeup.

They don't show the actual event, just the blood...

Wow, that timeout in the Wisconsin USF game was lucky. Still love the Marquette comeback. I love that team, even if they are from Wisconsin, and can't hit free throws.

I hate both UNC an Duke. But I hate Duke more. Go UNC.

Yet another last second loss. This time Villanova loses on a 4 point play with 1 second left. It's really getting silly now...

You think the Horizon is tight, look at the MAC

UNC won! I mean, UNC wins the spread! The game at UNC is a lock for UNC. UNC wins the ACC!

On other news: Jutdog dominates the night, with wins from Kent St, Rhode Island, BYU, Texas, and Old D.

Well on the bright side for Akaoni, Villanova will go dancing unless they lose the rest of their games (yes, jinx).

But does it matter anymore? Has Gunz pulled so far out in front of the rest of us that "hope" for the rest of us is no better than the "Hope" young people voted for in 2008?

Can we keep up?

Seth Curry finally looked like Seth Curry last night. What a comeback!

We are all doomed.

I have to point out that McGrumps in 6th place has the best overall W/L record at 136-59, followed closely by Gunz at 134-60.

Yes, lets look at the MAC:

1. Kent State (Jutdog) 7-2
2. Buffalo (CEO) 7-3
2. Miami OH (Slake) 7-3
2. Bowling Green (_) 7-3
5. Ball State (McGrumps) 6-4
...
7. Ohio (Babblemur) 5-5

All five player teams play non-player games on Saturday, it would be a bad loss to lose.

Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away, or should I say the CEO fades..........

This two week stretch has been unreal, it's like if it can happen it does, I'm loving Stanford's 7/8 from three first half, I was within 24 pts of Gunz and in fifth about two weeks ago, at this pace I'll be in last and down 100 by the end of the week. WOW!!!!!

Good times, the CEO

Yes, let's look at the MAC. Since I picked Ball State they have gone 1-4.
