But Babs wasn't the only one kicking ass. Boaris went on a rampage, and despite a Tennessee loss to Georgia and a Louisville loss to Cincy Boaris went 14-4 for 34 points, including K-State knocking off #1 Kansas on Monday, and Nebraska nipping #3 Texas on Saturday. Boaris shot up from 9th place to 6th.
The CEO turned in 35 points of his own, although 12 of them were for winning the MAAC and the Patriot. But that shouldn't overshadow a 15-4 week including a sweep in the bracket busters.
Breakdown performance chart
Babblemur +44 (14-4)
The CEO +35 (15-4)
Boaris +34 (14-4)
Gunz +27 (9-11)
Mad Mader +26 (12-7)
McGrumps +26 (12-8)
SGII +25 (13-7)
Jutdog +24 (10-8)
Jaybird +23 (13-7)
Akaoni +23 (15-4)
Slake B +23 (11-8)
Mooseye +21 (9-11)
Musashisan +19 (9-10)
Conference Champ Points Allocated (Week 15):
America East = Vermont (Gunz) 6 pts
Atlantic Sun = Belmont (Jut) 6 pts
Big South = Coastal Carolina (Mooseye) 6 pts
MAAC = Fairfield (CEO) 6 pts
NEC = Long Island (Babs) 6 pts
Patriot = Bucknell (CEO) 6 pts
Summit = Oakland (McGrumps) 6 pts
Many more conference championships should be determined this week (Week 16), so expect to see the points flying. Below is a breakdown of the Conferences yet to be determined.
Conference Champ Points TBD:
Minors:
- Big Sky: Montana (MM) or Northern Colorado (Boaris)
- Big West: Long Beach St (Musa) or Cal Poly (_)
- Ivy: Harvard (Gunz) or Princeton (Boaris)
- MEAC: Beth-Cook (Boaris), Morgan St (Jaybird) or Hampton (Mooseye)
- OVC: 4 teams in the running
- Southern: 5 teams in the running
- Southland: 10 teams in the running
- SWAC: 5 teams in the running
- Sun Belt: 4 teams in the running
Mid Majors (7 pts each)
- A-10: Xavier (Slake), Temple (Jaybird), Richmond (McGrumps), Duquesne (Musa), Rhode Island (Jut);
- Colonial: George Mason (SGII), Old D (Jut), VCU (Gunz), Hofstra (Akaoni)
- C-USA: 10 teams in the running
- Horizon: Cleveland St (Slake), Valpo (Jaybird), Butler (Akaoni), Milwaukee (_)
- MAC: 8 teams in the running
- MVC: Wichita St (Mooseye) or Missouri St (Akaoni)
- MWC: San Diego St (Babs), BYU (Jut) or Colorado St (Akaoni)
- WCC: St. Mary's (McGrumps), Gonzaga (The CEO) or San Fran (_)
- WAC: Utah St (Boaris) or New Mexico St (SGII)
- ACC: With three to four games remaining, it is down to Duke (Gunz) at 12-1, North Carolina (Jut) at 10-2, and Florida State (Akaoni) at 9-3. North Carolina travels to Florida State March 2, and Duke travels to North Carolina for a big game March 5th, but for this week all three need to win win win to survive to next week.
- Big East: With four games left, 'technically' 10 teams could still tie up for a share of the title, but realistically this is down to Pittsburgh (Jaybird) at 12-2 who could almost lock it up with two wins this week. 2 games back is Notre Dame (Mad Mader) at 10-4, who beat Pitt at their only meeting this year. Others (Georgetown, Villanova, Louisville, St. John's etc.) are longshots at best, needing Pitt to lose the rest of their games to be in contention.
- Big 10: With four games remaining the Big 10 is down to Ohio State (Slake) at 12-2, Purdue (Babs) at 11-3, and Wisconsin (Gunz) at 10-4. Purdue split their games with Ohio State and Wisconsin, but Wisconsin is 1-0 vs. Ohio State with one final game coming up March 6 that could determine a share of the Big Ten Title (and points for all!)
- Big 12: There are four games remaining, and Texas (Jut) at 11-1 has a slim lead over Kansas (Mooseye) at 10-2, while technically in the hunt is Texas A&M (Mad Mader) at 8-4 and Missouri (The CEO) at 7-5. Texas beat Kansas in their only matchup, meaning Kansas would need to win the Big 12 outright to get those 9 points - a tall order at this point.
- Pac 10: It is down to three, and Arizona (Jaybird) is looking to lock it up this week, giving Jaybird potentially two major conference champs. Arizona is 12-2, they play this week UCLA (Mad Mader) at 10-4, while the third contender Washington (SGII) at 10-5 needs a small miracle to pull of the Pac 10 this year.
- SEC: The SEC is CrAzY! Four games left - Alabama (Musashisan) at 10-2 and Florida (Mooseye) at 10-2 have a two game lead over a pack that includes Vandy (CEO) at 8-4, Kentucky (McGrumps) at 7-5, Georgia (Babs) at 7-5, Missississippi State (Jaybird) at 6-6 and Tennessee (Boaris) at 6-6. This week should eliminate three or four of those teams, but the Big Show will be March 1 when Alabama heads to Florida for their only matchup this year. Florida has a tough row to hoe given their next four games (Georgia, Kentucky, Alabama, Vandy), as does Vandy (Tenn, LSU, Kentucky, Florida).
STANDINGS AFTER WEEK 15:
- Current with all Feb 20 (Sunday) Games
- 1. Gunz 319 (151-76)
- 2. Babblemur 294 (149-74)
- 3. Mad Mader 277 (144-73)
- 4. Mooseye 277 (145-76)
- 5. Jaybird 266 (149-72)
- 6. Boaris 263 (152-68)
- 7. Jutdog 262 (148-74)
- 8. The CEO 261 (151-70)
- 9. McGrumps 260 (154-71)
- 10. Akaoni 257 (153-74)
- 11. Slake B 235 (133-88)
- 12. Some Guy in Illinois 231 (141-80)
- 13. Musashisan 194 (120-100)

I completely take back at least half of the bad things I've said about Iowa (except for Vilsack, that ballsack)

The Jutdog and Kent St rally to avoid the upset bug, but Valpo and UTEP both get bit, with ESPN now pulling UTEP out of the tourney as of Sportscenter this morning, "With UTEP no longer leading conf USA, it opens up a spot for the final tourney team Colorado St..."
Judgement week is on, every game a must win
Charleston's win last night puts them 2 games ahead of Wofford in the Southern, and Charleston beat Wofford twice. So... Congrats to Charleston (Mad Mader) for winning the Southern's 6 points! (Points will be added on Sunday, not today)

Ouch! That Hampton loss hurts Mooseye in the MEAC, esp. with Beth-Cook (Boaris) and Morgan St (Jaybird) winning.
babs
Hours after making my Hampton pick, I was doing more research and realized that pick was a complete throwaway. Morgan State is winning the MEAC and likely the conf tourney too. On the bright side, I rebounded in round three: Texas Southern's magic number is down to one.
MooseYe
Just F'n brutal, Vandy ends game giving up a 29-9 run to lose at home, Minnesota even worse, a 13-1 run by Michigan State, again Minny at home, I don't even think a word exists to describe how that can't happen, my teams are just very very soft....
Those 6 pts that my teams gave away, and I by gave I'm being kind would have had me tied for 6th.
How does a team at home allow a 13-1 run to close a game and lose by 4? How I ask you?
The answer is a lack of confidence, it's hard to watch teams without a point guard leading them, very hard....
Not to mention that my bonus pts for NCAA tourney for Minnesota are quickly fading, ESPN now saying without reaching Big 10 title game, they are out, wow, what a difference Al Nolen made......
For the record, I agree, how could the NCAA take a team that has lost 6/7 without a huge run and a quality upset or two in the Big 10 tourney, it could happen, but I'm preparing for the NIT
Top win streak:
George Mason at 13
Next:
Morehead St - 9
Arizona, Temple, & Long Island at 8
The 5-5 award (5 wins, 5 losses in last 10) goes to: Syracuse, Nova, West Virginia, Georgia, Cincy, Clemson, Washington State, California, USC, and Mississippi.
VCU's loss to Drexel puts Gunz out of the running for the Colonial.
New Mexico State's loss hands the WAC over to UTAH ST (Boaris), congrats! Those 7 points will be added on on Sunday.
Jaybird had a shitty day yesterday.
Jutdog and The CEO faired much better.

Kent St up half a game in league standings.
Now all I need is Duke to drop their game AT Virginia Tech.
Missouri St (Akaoni) and Wichita St (Moosye), both 14-3, play their last conference game this weekend - winner gets the 7 points for the conference.

Friday Minor Conference Status Report:
Big Sky - still locked up between Montana (MM) and Northern Colorado (Akaoni), may not be determined until March 2.
Big West - Chalk up 6 points for Musashisan, Long Beach State has locked it up!
Ivy - Harvard (Gunz) at 9-1, Princeton (Boaris) at 8-1, two weeks remaining. Look forward to March 5 when Harvard and Princeton play again. Remember - Ivy has no conference tourney, so not only will the winner get the 6 they get the auto-bid to the big dance.
MEAC - Beth-Cook (Boaris) and Morgan St (Jaybird) still fighting it out, Hampton (Moose) 2 games back, the MEAC probably won't get settled this week.
OVC - Murray St (SGII) has pulled to a one game lead, with one game remaining, but Austin Peay can still share the OVC with a Murray St loss this Saturday.
Southern - Charleston (Mad Mader) lost last night but with a one game lead over Wofford (CEO) and two wins over Wofford, C of C has locked up the Southern.
Southland - McNeese St (SGII) is tied up with three games remaining. Nail biter!
SWAC - Texas Southern (Mooseye) has a three game lead over Jackson St (McGrumps) with four games remaining. A TS win or a JS loss will lock up the SWAC for Mooseye.
Sun Belt - Florida Atlantic (Babs) has locked it up!

Left for dead only a few weeks ago, suddenly K State is heating up at the right time. Will that momentum into a strong Biq 12 tourney and possibly and NCAA win. It's good to be peaking this time of year
Left for dead, dismissed, NIT bound Butler ends in a tie for the Conf title. Milwaukee beat Butler twice and split with Cleveland State. Milwaukee can thank GB for knocking off Cleveland St and giving Milwaukee this chance. What happened to Valpo?
Wichita St, everyone's favorite mid major to follow in Northern Iowa's steps at the start of the year put together a solid season, but with today's loss could find themselves on the outside looking in come Selection Sunday should they not win the conf tourney.
Nebraska, up, down, up, down, beat Texas, lose to Iowa State, hmmmm....
SEC tightens up today, but really still a two man race, but nice that it will stay interesting.
Can anyone tell me who will win the MAC conf tourney? It seems like every team has split at the top, and only a few teams don't have a chance, this should play out very interesting. I scoffed last year at Ohio coming out, and wrote them off, sending G-Town to the Great 8, whoops, that hurt my bracket a little....
San Diego St / BYU. I still think San Diego St is the better tourney team, can anyone name anyone other than Jimmer on BYU? I like the athleticism and age with San Diego St, but I have to admit, it bothers me a little that they couldn't earn a split with BYU.
Minnesota flushed any small hope they had of an NCAA tourney down the drain today, they would need to win the Big 10 tourney to go now, but that's old news, how about Michigan? I have to admit, I considered them in the expansion draft, but their youth and number of road games concerned me. Now, if they get the season sweep over Michigan St to close the year, they finish at .500 in the Big 10, played some really good teams close, but do have quality wins over Clemson, Harvard, Oakland, Penn State twice, Michigan St, and Minnesota. The two wins over Penn State in my mind give them the edge of State, sorry Lions.
Speaking of Harvard, can the Ivy send two? Harvard has wins over Colorado and Boston College. They get Princeton at home to close out the season, no pressure. Princeton did beat likely tourney team Bucknell and got Tulsa in 2OT, but I wouldn't call either a "quality win" They probably need that season ending win more than Harvard.
Then there is the College of Charleston, they lose two straight to mediocre teams to close out the year, not sure what that means, but could make for an interesting conf tourney. This team has 4 good, not great teams in Charleston, Furman, Wofford, and Chattanoga, and Davidson has shown they can pull upsets, will be interesting to see who wins the conf tourney
The Pac 10 continues to just be weird, sorry to whoever has them, but UCLA is not good, I have watched them play a few times and they actually look bad. I don't understand Washington's collapse, Arizona rose to the occasion, but dropping two to the LA teams this week, wow, did not see that coming. I thought USC would be better this year, I liked what I saw of them, I think Arizona is the most athletic, and could win a game, maybe two (their size could hurt them in the tourney), I guess the injury to Washington's guard really shook them up.
Then there is St John's, I watched it live, I've seen it replayed 100 times, Hardy stepped out of bounds on the baseline against Pitt, no hoop sorry, but that's not the way the game works. Here is a team that I don't see how they can win a game if anyone forces them to play a half court offense, but, if they can dictate, get out and run, they are athletic and senior laden, and are playing great ball. I thought Babs got a little overwhelmed with the return of Steve Lavin, instead, what a great pick they've turned out to be.
Do you think Minnesota will turn down a bid to play in the CBIT, because at this rate, that is where they're headed
I agree with Boaris. Tennessee is fucked up. I thought it was a "bold" pick.
Babs
Bold and not so beautiful. Fuck. Boaris is self projecting a 13th place finish. Fucking awful. I may have to take a year off after this performance.
Thank FSM that I have had something more important on my mind lately. Outside of a nice MVC win by Missouri St. my team has sucked.
Partner has totally lost control of Memphis. Souch talent wasted.
Boaris is full of shit, because he is looking strong to add another four conference championships to his score: Big Sky, Ivy, MEAC, and C-USA for 25 points.
babs
We should add a new point category: Win Streaks. +1 for 10 consecutive wins; +1 for 15, +1 fpr 20, +1 for 25, +2 for 30, +2 for 35, and +3 for undefeated complete season
No way, no more rules
