2010-2011 Tournament Points

This is the proposed point values for the regular season pre-conference tournaments. This year are more tournaments included than usual, mostly to include some of the ones that have more mid-major teams.

The rule I basically followed was that 8 team tournaments are worth four points if they are high-caliber tournaments, other wise worth 3 or nothing. 4 team tournaments are worth 3 points if they are high-caliber, but 2 or nothing if not.

16 team tournaments in which the final four teams are pre-determined are bull-shit. They are considered 4 team tournaments for our sake. The NIT, which is a true 16 team tournament, is worth 5 points. Round robin style tournaments are worth nothing. Conference vs. conference series (ACC/Big 10 for example) are also worth nothing.

Great Alaska Shootout (Nov. 24-27) - 3 points
76 Classic (Nov. 25-28) - 4 points
Old Spice Classic (Nov. 25-28) - 4 points
Chicago Invitational (Nov. 26-27) - 2 points
South Padre Invitational (Nov. 26-27) - 2 points
MSG Holiday Festival (Dec. 20-21) - 2 points
