Draft Order Set!!!

This afternoon the draft order for the 3rd Annual Babblemur Basketball Contest was drawn, videotaped, and is posted below. This year we will have 10 (ten) players: Akaoni, Babblemur, Boaris, the CEO, Gunz, Jaybird, Jutdog, NotaTurtle, Phunmunki(& sidekick ShinySparklePockets), and Some Guy From Illinois.

Here is the video documentation of the draft order drawing, which was only done once, by Babblemur (left) and Jutdog (right) filmed by little ShinySparklePockets:

Here is a shot of the draft order board:

For the "imagery impaired", the draft order for round one will be:
1. Boaris
2. Jaybird
3. The CEO
4. Some Guy in Illinois
5. Phunmunki (& sidekick ShinySparklePockets)
6. Gunz
7. Akaoni
8. NotaTurtle
9. Jutdog
10. Babblemur :-(

Draft rules:

- Each player will draft 8 NCAA D-1 Men's Basketball Teams
- No team can be drafted by more than one player
- Round 1 draft order is chosen randomly
- Draft will follow snake draft method (team A picks 1 and 8, team B picks 2 and 7, etc)
- No player can draft more than 1 team from the same conference in the first 4 rounds
- No player can draft more than 2 teams from the same conference (in preseason)

Team Selection May Begin ANY TIME.

Note to Phunmunki - I agree, I too like the towel-head Babblemur much more.

That was some fantastic college football this weekend!

OK, my thoughts on this are that picking last sucks. Why? Yes, there is a lot of parity this year, but the top 8 teams are a significant step above the others. So on the plus side I will get two of the "best of the rest" - no complaints. But then I'm pretty much SOL for all sorts of great "second tier" teams, which by the time I come back up again for pick #30, I probably won't even have the Golden Gopher's to choose. That kind of blows.

Boaris - he was a beast last year that was in first place for multiple weeks. Kansas will give him a huge handicap, but fortunately his round 3-8 picks will likely suck.

Jaybird and The CEO picking 2 and 3 will likewise get a good head start. Who the hell knows what "some guy in Illinois" will do, we have to assume he will suck.

I think the only thing that we can say for sure at this point is that I am going to have to choose between California and Butler (woop-de-fukin-doo) and Jutdog gets the crap I don't take.

If Jaybird takes North Dakota State again, I quit.

Sure, but did you see that Ohio State drubbing this weekend? That was pretty sweet. AND, the Hawkeyes are 6-0!

I'm pretty "meh" about my draft selection spot, but as we all know, where people are ranked pre-season and where they end up can vary greatly. I'm going to be pretty much on auto pilot for the draft, but I will attempt to keep up as much as possible.

No Musashisan makes me sad, if for no other reason than we have one fewer Japan reference in the league names.

Yeah, who will be wise enough to pick Iowa now?
