Week Five resulted in little to no change to the Leader Board, as players saw an average of 12.3 games and a total of 25 head to head match ups (averaging 3.8 each). Given these meaningless statistics, an average "perfect week" for week five would result in 20 points.
Boaris was the only player this week to reach this target, going 12-1 and 3-0 against other players, with an additional 2 points for popping Top 10 Pittsburgh. #6 Kansas State, #7 Tennessee, #21 Louisville, and #22 UNLV are testament to his success. He narrowed the gap between himself and Gunz by 3 points to 17.
Gunz held onto the top spot with 17 pts (9-4) thanks to a 4-3 performance against other players (i.e. it could have been worse for the rest of us). Mad Mader held onto the #3 position with 17 of his own.
In the "Cluster" McGrumps held onto 4th place with 17 pts, Jut flipped into 5th place with 18 points, Mooseye stayed in 6th with 13 points, The CEO tumbled into 7th with 9 pts, Babblemur and Jaybird stayed at 8th and 9th with 12 points each.
No change in the Cellar where Slake B's 8-1 record gave him 10 pts, SGII matched that with 10 off an 8-4 week, Akaoni squeeked out 8 pts (6-4) and Musashisan struggled for 7 pts (5-6).
Week Six Preview
It is Finals Week on many campuses, another week of fewer games and fewer point opportunities. Players will average only 9.8 games this week, with 21 head to head matchups (3.2 average per player) so an average "perfect" week this week will result in 16 points, not a lot of room to move up and down the Leader Board.
At the top of the Leader Board, Gunz has only 8 games with 2 head to heads, and assuming Stanford beats struggling Butler he is looking at 12 points. Boaris can gain more ground with 11 games including 5 head-to-head matchups, 4 of which are winnable, but Kansas State vs. Florida (Mooseye) is the important one.
Down in the Cellar, Musashisan has some big opportunities as Baylor takes on struggling Gonzaga (The CEO), but Alabama will need a Crimson Miracle to beat Oklahoma State (Gunz). A 10 point week won't do much toward catching Akaoni, who could get 3 from Florida St vs. Loyola Marymount (Boaris) and Texas Tech vs. UTEP (Jaybird) and don't be too surprised if Missouri State knocks off St. Louis (Mad Mader). Slake B and Some Guy in Illinois won't be caught by those two yet though, but won't climb out of the Cellar, either.
Also, watch out for Mooseye who has a potential 24 points, but that includes Charlotte playing a red-hot Tennessee team so lets call it 19 potential points.
Standings After Week Five

San Diego State (10-0) is knocking on the Top 10 Door...
BYU (10-0) is at #16, UNLV at #22 - Mountain West will be fun this year.
That is hilarious
Everybody won Monday night.

The news just keeps rolling in for Memphis, and it's not good.....
That only *seems* like bad new. Once you read the full story (http://gary-parrish.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6271764/26406555), you learn that the loss of Garcia means that they are removing the redshirt from Hippolyte Tsafack!
With Tsafack on my side, I am basically guaranteed to win this fucking thing.
--McGrumps
In their "down year," Oakland loses late to Mich. St, then knock off Tennessee.
Dude, Hippolyte Tsafack is in the game? FUUUUUUCK. -babs
Babs, you see the curse of the board remains, if the team is discussed, it effects their play, when you dedicate a title to them, they are doomed, I won't name the teams involved to protect their innocence, but I think there are a few posts above referring to an upset tonight that occurred.....
I submit the second point: a team that was drafted in the first round, again will remain unnamed, but has severely underwhelmed against all previous posts suggesting they might do otherwise,
And the third point is a great reference to a comment made earlier this year about again, a team to remain unnamed who certainly had lost some firepower, but has played well of late, and was also involved in the upset of the evening
All future posts will reamin collegeless to protect the innocent....
-The CEO
What the tsafack are you talking about?
I deserve extra points for my "minor" team knocking off a top-10 team.
Down goes Louisville!
Are you suggesting I cursed Boaris by giving Tennessee marquis status? Perhaps. Oakland will surely deserve their own post after that DOMINATING win. They beat them by 7!!!
Gonzaga Gonzaga Gonzaga!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
Also, look at Maine, since jawing you on the pick, they haven't lost, there is a curse, be careful how you spin your trash talk.....
Please don't talk about M--ne.
Note how I remarked at how Bradley was ass-kicking for Gunz, and then dow-dow-down they went.
You are going down, Gunz. This season WILL be competitive!
But not tonight. UNLV should mop the floor with Santa Barbara who starts four girly-girls and a midget.
:o), all I'll say is it is the week of upsets
I have no idea what anyone is talking about in this thread.
I will start paying more attention once I have finished winning back-to-back titles in my fantasy football league.
Also, my team appears to really stink.
-akaoni
You should save your football trash talk for that page. Your three-game losing streak apparently has you pretty confident.
as stated previously, be careful how you talk trash, for whoever made the comment about last nights upset, thank you, you set the wheels in motion :o)
-The CEO
Sorry, dentist appointment this morning, then meetings meetings meetings. I will update scores as soon as I get a chance.
HA HA! I totally cursed UNLV into losing to Santa Barbara. Thank you very much. To repeat my curse: "UNLV should mop the floor with Santa Barbara who starts four girly-girls and a midget."
OK, CEO, who should we take down next? Arizona vs. Northern Arizona?
The very nature of me adding a team by name has an impact, I am that powerful I guess, so unfortunately, I can not answer your question. It seems you too Babs posses this great influence, seems like you and I should be on the phone with coaches on the hotseat.....
-The CEO
Do you think Tennessee can recover from its stunning loss to Oakland to wipe the noses of Charlotte?
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=5919313
The article above would say that Charlotte has a long road to walk, and do so without one of their key contributors......
Sounds like Tennessee should have an easy time of it then, huh?
BAM! The curse strikes Tennessee again.
How fitting, as we enter the holiday season, the bro's Mitchell are tightly knitted in the middle, 1 pt sperating each, 5 players with higher scores, 5 players with lower.....
All sucking...
